balancing...good post and something to think about.

balancing the budget, save the middle class, growing the economy are buzz words/phrases to these folks. they wish to cut working person programs and give the money to corporations and richgaryrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04014837662530534250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19723914.post-40995706449528480632013-02-04T07:33:59.329-06:002013-02-04T07:33:59.329-06:00Jim is absolutely correct. There are all kinds of...Jim is absolutely correct. There are all kinds of other solutions to fixing the social safety net for the long term. At the same time, we can gradually (and sanely) reduce our deficit by measures the grow the economy. Examples are Bernie Sanders comment that by just lifting the cap on Social Security taxes, we assure that program far into the future. Doing anything real about China's currency manipulation and illegal trade subsidies to get closer to balanced trade, changes the deficit by billions and brings jobs back that help fund government and reduce the debt. If we stopped playing around with half measures on healthcare, and simply offered Medicare for all, with a continued funding stream from employers, we would make a major dent in our health care costs, as have every other major industrial nation on earth. The point is, there are solutions that the mainstream media and many politicians don't want to talk about. We have to force the conversation.

ike gittlenIke Gittlennoreply@blogger.com
